Cloudroll

Your Nextcloud photos, at home on your iPhone.

Follow on GitHub In testing. Coming to the App Store.

What it does

Cloudroll is an app for Memories, the photo gallery many people run on their own Nextcloud. It keeps Memories' timeline and adds the parts that should feel like iOS.

Phone and cloud, one timeline

Photos on your iPhone show up next to the ones on Nextcloud. Upload what's missing, and delete from the phone, the server or both.

A proper photo viewer

Pinch to zoom and swipe between photos. Swipe up for the details and a map. Live Photos play the way they do in Photos.

Edit on the phone

Adjust light and color, crop, rotate and add filters. Edits are saved through Photos, so you can always revert them there.

Share and save

Send photos through the share sheet, or save originals from your server straight to the camera roll.

Locked when you leave

Turn on Face ID and Cloudroll locks every time you switch away from it.

More than one server

Add your own Nextcloud, a family member's or a friend's, and switch between them in Settings.

What you need

iPhone
iOS 17 or later
Server
Nextcloud with the Memories app installed
Every feature
Memories 9 or later, which needs Nextcloud 34 or later

On an older version of Memories, Cloudroll still signs in and shows your photos, using Memories' own web interface instead of the iOS screens.

Free and open source

Cloudroll is free, with no ads and no tracking, and it talks only to your own server. The code is on GitHub.

If you'd like to support it, you can leave a tip in the app once it's on the App Store, or use GitHub Sponsors or Ko-fi.
